Reduces pressure & shear forces on the toes & inhibits motion at the MTP joints & IP joints, allowing roll-off at the most distal point of foot contact
Ankle Joint Rocker
It lessens the demand for ankle joint motion at heel contact & propulsion. Useful for fixed or limited ankle joint motion deformity

Forefoot, Heel, Heel-To-Toe Wedges
An external angular wedge is applied to the heel &/or frontal sole, or from the heel to the toe of a shoe. Medial or lateral heel wedges add an extrinsic posting to rotate (tilt) the foot into varusor valgus in the frontal plane (inversion, eversion).
Wedges can be at the heel, forefoot, or from the heel to the forefoot. In a fixed deformity, wedges can be used to accommodate the position of function, bringing the ground up to the foot. Used for Pronation, Supination, varus, & valgus disorders. Made to a prescribed degree
Reverse Thomas Heel
An anterior lateral extension longer than
the standard heel to add hindfoot &
midfoot support laterally. Provides extra
support to prevent lateral instability
Thomas Heel
An extension of the standard heel on the anterior medial aspect to add rear foot or midfoot support medially. Provides added support for an excessively pronated foot
Buttress
Rigid material is vulcanized on one side of the shoe to provide extra support. Buttresses improve stability & relieve ankle, knee, hip, & back pain.They’re extremely helpful in preventing the patient from losing balance & reducing the risk of falls & ankle sprains

Material is added to the side of the sole to broaden the base of support. Increases the stability of the heel

Re-Last
Cut, Spread, & fill of the sole [forefoot &/or midfoot (adding width)]. Improves fit for OTS (off-the-shelf) footwear. A considerably more cost-effective alternative to custom shoes. Accommodative for metatarsals, Extreme Combination Last (narrow heels with wide forefoot), collapsed midfoot, varus/valgus forefoot, metatarsus adductus, & other foot deformities
Intrinsic Excavation
Consists of removing a designated area of the sole in order to offload &/or accommodate & can be left void to offload wound or may be filled, in most cases, with poron or plastazote.
Reduces plantar pressure in painful areas &/or accommodates bony prominences. Works best in combination with mirrored adjustments to the foot orthoses

Used to ReduceFriction & Pressure, Haglund’s Deformity, Pump Bump, Retrocalcaneal Bursitis, etc.
Spot Stretching & Shoe Stretching
Improves the fit of the shoe by increasing the room in the shoe & reducing pressure on sensitive areas such as wounds, bony prominences, or deformities. Spot stretching is especially helpful for bunions, tailor's bunions, bunionettes
Balloon / Bubble Patching
When conventional stretching is insufficient, balloon/bubble patching can be performed by removing a portion of the upper & replacing by cementing &/or stitching a softer more supple material. Usually leather is used, however, more frequently with athletic shoes, spenco has been preferred
Toe Patch
Reinforcement of the toebox upper by cementing a durable leather patch in place on the inside of the shoe's upper lining. Ideal for Hammer, Mallet, Claw toes, fixed dorsiflexed toes, toenail issues, or other forefoot deformities.
Velcro (Strap) Trimming, Extension, Conversion
Straps may be extended or trimmed to accommodate a high instep, narrows, wides, lymphedema, deformities, & braces.
Lace-up Closure Coversion to Velcro Closure is available on a case-by-case basis
